Synopsis
In the sweltering summer of 1945 Japan, young Nobuko rescues a black cat she names Kuro, bringing a flicker of joy to her family's struggle with food shortages. As the war intensifies, the fragile peace Kuro provides is threatened by the encroaching darkness. Can the innocent bond between girl and cat endure the looming devastation?
